Les Grands Dossiers — Independent platform for election information and public records

What is this platform?

Les Grands Dossiers is an independent civic-information platform. It is not the official website of the CEP, the Haitian government, any court or any other public institution.

We publish information from public sources, each with its source, after human review. For official information, consult the institution concerned directly. More about the platform

Methodology

How we work

These rules apply to every piece of information on the platform. The system prevents publication if a rule is not met.

Version 1.0 · Last updated: October 27, 2026

1.Every fact has its source

We show the original link, who published it, the date and a short excerpt. We keep a private copy of the source and its fingerprint (SHA-256) so we can prove what it said even if it changes or disappears.

2.Evidence levels

The evidence level is computed automatically from the sources: official document, direct record, several independent outlets, or a single outlet. With a single outlet, we say "according to" the source.

Primary official source
Official document (for example: CEP, Le Moniteur, a court).
Direct record
Direct document or recording.
Multiple independent sources
Several credible outlets with their own reporting.
Single secondary source
A single credible outlet; we present it as that source's report.

3.The same name is not the same person

Two people can share a name. An editor must confirm identity with other elements (office, constituency, party, official document). A name alone is never enough.

4.At least two people

The author of a piece of information cannot review or publish it. A serious allegation needs two different reviewers, one of whom is a senior editor or legal reviewer.

We distinguish allegations, investigations, trials and court rulings. An investigation or accusation is not proof of guilt.

6.Right of reply

Before publishing a serious allegation, we ask the person concerned for their response. Responses are published next to the information.

7.Corrections

We do not erase what we published: we publish a new version with a correction note, or withdraw it with the reason.

8.Research work

On every profile we show which categories we searched (education, public office, legal matters, etc.) and when. It is not a score or a percentage: it says what work has been done and what remains.

9.When nothing is shown

If we have published nothing in a category, that does not mean nothing exists. It means we have not yet found or verified the information. We always say so clearly.

10.Neutrality

We do not rank candidates, recommend any of them, or give any score (corruption, trust, integrity or otherwise). The comparison page puts facts side by side, with no winner. Citizens decide.

11.Translations

Haitian Creole is the primary language. When a text does not exist in the language you chose, we show the original and say so. A machine translation of an allegation is never presented as reviewed.

12.Dossiers and PDFs

A dossier is research prepared by Les Grands Dossiers, not a government, CEP or court document. Each dossier has a number (AE26-…) and a QR code to verify it on the site.

13.Artificial intelligence

AI tools may help the team search, but they never publish anything. People verify and publish.

14.Privacy

We do not publish private information (address, phone, family members outside politics). We never bypass an access control to obtain information.
